Chalice with Grapes and Anchor Cross with Palms
  • Chalice with Grapes is the symbol for Holy Communion

  • Anchor Cross with Palms. The anchor cross is a symbol of Jesus Christ our secure anchor. This comes from the days of persecution before Constantine. Christians saw hope in the anchor cross, but non-Christians saw just an anchor. An anchor is a symbol of a hope ("sure and steadfast" (Heb 6:10).

  • The palms are a symbol of the triumphant entry of Jesus ("and some cut branches from trees to spread in his path Matt 21:8). They are also a symbol of victory.
