- Mary Draper White was the daughter of Virgil and Eliza Holmes Draper. Mr Draper purchased Dominick Lynch's waterpower and mill property known as
Factory Village. He manufactured cotton goods and ran a dry goods store.
- Mary's parents' home was on the corner of Spring and Dominick Streets (now
Fort Stanwix).
- In 1850 she married Henry Hill who died in 1854. In 1860 she married H.K. White of Spence and White, the oldest dry goods
store in Rome. Mr. White died in 1915.
- Mrs. White was a member of this church since 1848
and had three children, Mrs. James Soper of Chicago, Mrs. James Barnard and
Dr. Henry White MD both of Rome.
- Her home became Rose Hospital now the site
of Valentine Apartment. (Rome Sentinel Obit December 26, 1919).
